Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) at [College Name] has been constituted to ensure that students have a formal and accessible platform to voice their concerns and grievances related to academic, administrative, or other matters. The SGRC is dedicated to resolving issues in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner, in alignment with the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations.

The committee comprises faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives, ensuring a balanced and empathetic approach to grievance resolution. Students are encouraged to approach the SGRC with confidence, knowing that their concerns will be handled confidentially and with integrity.

Key Functions:

  • Receive and address student complaints

  • Ensure fair investigation and timely redressal

  • Recommend corrective actions to concerned departments


    

 

Ombud person

The Ombudsperson acts as an independent authority appointed in accordance with UGC guidelines to address unresolved student grievances that are escalated beyond the SGRC. The Ombudsperson ensures that justice is served impartially and works to uphold the rights and dignity of every student.

Students may approach the Ombudsperson if they are unsatisfied with the SGRC’s resolution or if the grievance remains unaddressed beyond the stipulated time.

Role of the Ombudsperson:

  • Review appeals related to unresolved grievances

  • Provide recommendations to the institution for appropriate action

  • Ensure compliance with UGC grievance redressal norms
